Girls on the Run is so much fun! That was the motto for the Fall 2008 Girls on the Run Season! For those of you that don't know what GOTR is, it's a after school program for 3-5th grade girls that incorporates important lessons with training for a 5K. We meet on Monday and Wednesdays for an hour and 15 minutes and usually have a lesson and some type of running exercise! We learn things such as healthy eating habits, cooperation, community service, ect. It's an excellent program I became involved in recently. In September I signed up to coach for 12 weeks with these girls and what an awesome experience! To see them grow and change as a person and as a runner! I spent a good part of my week with these kids and just enjoyed every moment of it! They became my kids! I'm proud to say they all completed their 5K run on December 7th! No one quit, no one gave up, and I was sooooo proud of these young women! Here are a few pics from this awesome experience!

Return to Reality
The beach was absolutely fantastic! We were able to relax and enjoy! It was good weather, good eating, good conversation! I ran on the beach, saw dolphins, read a whole book, watched a movie, put together a puzzle, played with Starbuck at the beach! All in all it was a great trip, and now we've been back to reality for the past week! BOO HOO!!!! Here are some pics from the beach....enjoy! Don't be jealous!!

Vacation here we come!!!

Today we leave for a week long vacation to the Outer Banks,NC! It was almost exactly 4 years to this day we were there when Zacc returned from Iraq on his R&R. What a trip that was! It was quiet, peaceful, relaxing! I can only hope this trip will be the same, although this year we have some additions to the group! We are taking Starbuck & Jillian this time around! I think Jillian will love the screened in porch and Starbuck will love running on the beach! It will be quite an experience with both animals! I'm ready to kick back, drink my coffee on the porch, read my book, and enjoy spending time with my family. I'll see you all when I get back! :)

Just another day in WV!

Winter is so depressing...it makes me want to curl up every night on the couch with my hot cocoa and watch Desperate Housewives. Yet, I still force myself to go to work, to hit the gym, to run errands, to cook dinner but all the way wishing it was warm with sunlight outside. Winter in WV is sad to watch. The temperature drops quicker than you can say "hey wait a minute" and the snow flakes tend to fall tediously throughout the day. Teasing us. I mean if its going to snow....let it snow! The kind of snow that keeps me trapped at home all day with no possibly way of attending work. Yet, the snow we end up getting is the....do you think you can make it into work today? Well, at least try and while you see wreck after wreck you forge on down the road thinking I can't afford to take another vacation day! Isn't that sad, that we put our lives in danger for a measly paying job? I wonder sometimes about the kind of world we live in! Well, enough of the crying....here's to my favorite show! And many more days of depressing WV weather!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary

Happy 2 Year Anniversary!!!
What is the old fashioned saying we refer to when things go by so quickly we barely have a minute to breathe? Oh yes..."time sure does fly!" Today is our 2 year wedding anniversar
y! Where did those 2 years go, let alone the 8 we've know one another. I am suprised and amazed every day at the continuous growth in our relationship and also our friendship. For those of you that have known us, you've seen us through some ups and downs in our time together but yet HERE WE ARE!
People often ask me if I enjoy being married! After 2 years, I still love it! There is something about going to sleep and waking up next to the love of your life day after day. How can anyone tire of that feeling? I believe marriage is a gift and is sacred. Something to cherish and uphold your vows day in and day out till you are no longer with that someone. What can I say..I'm such a sucker for love!
Thank you to all who have loved us and supported us. We appreciate you and your prayers more than you will ever know. I'm thankful today for my amazing husband and my awesome marriage!

I'll be trying to keep this updated on a regular basis..so check back often! We are still in the Appalachian mountain region of WV and try regularly to go out and enjoy the nature God placed on earth for us!
As to our first blog...here's a fun picture from a recent trip to Raven's Rock!
