Newest Addition

Just wanted to share the newest addition to our family. This is Mason, he's now 11 months old and he's a vibrant loving puppy! He's a black lab/retriever mix and full of energy! After 2 weeks Starbuck and Mason are best friends! I'm so glad the transition period wasn't too long! Our little Mason is a chewer, loves Zacc's slippers! We think it's part lab in him and the fact that he's still young and hasn't learned all his manners yet! Starbuck had his moments too when he was younger! They both walk great together outside and I attempted the "lets put them both in the car together and see how that goes" event on Friday. FABULOUS! They were perfectly behaved! So this new counts bring our animals to 3! I have recently befriended a kitty down by our dumpsters that is hanging around. I bring it food and pray it has a home to go too at night. I love animals and I want to save them all! Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure!

Home for the Holidays
I know, I know....it's been way too long! It's been a crazy month or so! We were able to travel back home to Kansas for Christmas this year! I enjoyed 9 full days with all of my family and Zacc was able to join us for 4 1/2 of those! It was awesome being around everyone and just enjoying their company! There were no scheduled plans this time so I was free to float among the family members homes and spend time with everyone! Christopher is a ball of energy and Brianna is quick to follow! I am so very blessed to have the family that I have! They are all awesome! It's a time to remember the real reason for the season also! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May God continue to bless you this year!!

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is so much fun! That was the motto for the Fall 2008 Girls on the Run Season! For those of you that don't know what GOTR is, it's a after school program for 3-5th grade girls that incorporates important lessons with training for a 5K. We meet on Monday and Wednesdays for an hour and 15 minutes and usually have a lesson and some type of running exercise! We learn things such as healthy eating habits, cooperation, community service, ect. It's an excellent program I became involved in recently. In September I signed up to coach for 12 weeks with these girls and what an awesome experience! To see them grow and change as a person and as a runner! I spent a good part of my week with these kids and just enjoyed every moment of it! They became my kids! I'm proud to say they all completed their 5K run on December 7th! No one quit, no one gave up, and I was sooooo proud of these young women! Here are a few pics from this awesome experience!

Return to Reality
The beach was absolutely fantastic! We were able to relax and enjoy! It was good weather, good eating, good conversation! I ran on the beach, saw dolphins, read a whole book, watched a movie, put together a puzzle, played with Starbuck at the beach! All in all it was a great trip, and now we've been back to reality for the past week! BOO HOO!!!! Here are some pics from the beach....enjoy! Don't be jealous!!

Vacation here we come!!!

Today we leave for a week long vacation to the Outer Banks,NC! It was almost exactly 4 years to this day we were there when Zacc returned from Iraq on his R&R. What a trip that was! It was quiet, peaceful, relaxing! I can only hope this trip will be the same, although this year we have some additions to the group! We are taking Starbuck & Jillian this time around! I think Jillian will love the screened in porch and Starbuck will love running on the beach! It will be quite an experience with both animals! I'm ready to kick back, drink my coffee on the porch, read my book, and enjoy spending time with my family. I'll see you all when I get back! :)

Just another day in WV!

Winter is so depressing...it makes me want to curl up every night on the couch with my hot cocoa and watch Desperate Housewives. Yet, I still force myself to go to work, to hit the gym, to run errands, to cook dinner but all the way wishing it was warm with sunlight outside. Winter in WV is sad to watch. The temperature drops quicker than you can say "hey wait a minute" and the snow flakes tend to fall tediously throughout the day. Teasing us. I mean if its going to snow....let it snow! The kind of snow that keeps me trapped at home all day with no possibly way of attending work. Yet, the snow we end up getting is the....do you think you can make it into work today? Well, at least try and while you see wreck after wreck you forge on down the road thinking I can't afford to take another vacation day! Isn't that sad, that we put our lives in danger for a measly paying job? I wonder sometimes about the kind of world we live in! Well, enough of the crying....here's to my favorite show! And many more days of depressing WV weather!
